FOR BOARD OF EDUCATION

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE IS CLEARER
› IMPROVE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AND REDUCE ABSENTEEISM
I'll advocate for measurable goals in reading, math, and attendance, and make sure resources go toward programs that actually move the needle for students.
› MATCH THE DISTRICT TO TODAY'S ENROLLMENT
I'll call for staffing and facilities planning that reflect the enrollment we actually have — not the enrollment we used to have.
› CONTROL COSTS AND DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY
I'll take a hard look at administration, contracts, and major spending, and push for every dollar to be accounted for.
THE FACTS ARE CLEAR
› STUDENT OUTCOMES
In 2024-25, 36% of Neptune students met expectations in English Language Arts, against 53% statewide. In math, 22% against 42%. One in four Neptune students was chronically absent — against one in seven statewide.
› DECLINING ENROLLMENT
Enrollment has fallen from 4,286 students to 3,384 since 2016 - down 21%.
Neptune High School now operates at 39% of stated capacity, the middle school at 49%.
› FINANCIAL PRESSURE
Six years of S-2 cuts have cost Neptune $25 million in state aid. In 2025, the school
tax levy rose from $59.5 million to $74.6 million — a 25.31% increase.
